Special Needs Travel

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that about 1 in 68 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The CDC also estimates that one in five Americans has a disability of some kind, another 8.7 million having limited mobility. Add to this the aging U.S. population and we have a significant group of people that could benefit from some accommodation and understanding. Trade Winds Travel has that understanding, and we are certified and trained to handle all aspects of traveling.

Certified autism travel and accessible travel advocate.

Internationally Recognized Certification for Autism Professionals

The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) offers certification programs to travel professionals who help families and individuals with special needs prepare for their perfect vacation. A Certified Autism Travel Professionalâ„¢ (CATP) is defined as a professional who has demonstrated that they are both knowledgeable and capable of providing support and travel-related services to an individual on the autism spectrum as well as their family.
